Is LesGaiCineMad Director (Madrid International Lesbian Gay and Transsexual Film Festival) hosted by Fundación Triángulo, where he also is part of the Directing Board and Patron. He leads International Solidarity Projects in Africa and Latin America, being his most beloved the ones about social equality and human rights advocacy. Has been the heart behind the creation of CineLGBT Network, a huge solidarity and culture network that reaches, through their independent film festivals, more than 30 Iberoamerican cities and has 55.000 attendants all year round. He is founding member of GUNEA (Espacio Iberoamericano de Cine LGBT). He is part of the Documenta Madrid Advisory Board since 2005.

Es el Director del LesGaiCineMad (Festival Internacional de Cine Gai y Lésbico de Madrid) organizado por la Fundación Triángulo, donde además es miembro de su Junta Directiva y su Patronato. Impulsa proyectos de Cooperación Internacional al Desarrollo en África y América Latina, siendo su especialidad los derechos humanos y la igualdad social. Ha sido el impulsor de la creación de la Red CineLGBT, una gran red de cooperación y cultura que llega a través de sus festivales miembro a más de 30 ciudades iberoamericanas y tiene 55.000 espectadores anuales. Es miembro fundador de GUNEA (Espacio Iberoamericano de Cine GLBT). Ha sido ponente en numerosos congresos y seminarios internacionales en España y América Latina. Es parte del Comité Asesor de Documenta Madrid desde 2005.

He is a writer and a teacher specialized in Documentary Cinema and Mass Media. He has a degree as a Mass Media Analyst by Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He wrote for several magazines in Argentina, Brazil and Spain. He is a Cultural Manager dedicated to the production of Film Festivals with social value; where he stands out as the producer of LesGaiCineMad (Madrid International Lesbian Gay and Transsexual Film Festival), organized by Fundación Triángulo since 1996. From 2005 to 2009 he has been part of Documenta Madrid Advisory Board and Documenta Madrid Guests Coordinator. Since 2006 represents LesGaiCineMad as FILMAD Vicepresident (Madrid’s Film Festivals Coordination Board) where he is founding member. Since 2007 he collaborates with the members of CineLGBT Network on production and logistics. Now he is finishing his first novel.

Es escritor y docente especializado en Cine Documental y Comunicación Social. Se ha recibido como Analista en Medios de Comunicación en la Universidad del Salvador en Buenos Aires. Ha escrito para numerosas publicaciones de interés general en Argentina, Brasil y España. Es Gestor Cultural dedicado a la producción de Festivales de Cine con calado social en España y Latinoamérica; entre los que se destaca el LesGaiCineMad (Festival Internacional de Cine Gai Lésbico y Transexual de Madrid), organizado desde 1996 por la Fundación Triángulo. Desde 2005 y hasta 2009 ha sido miembro del Comité Asesor de Documenta Madrid. Desde 2006 representa al LesGaiCineMad en la vicepresidencia de FILMAD (Coordinadora de Festivales de Cine de Madrid) de la cual es miembro fundador. Desde 2007 colabora con los festivales miembro de la Red CineLGBT en tareas de producción y logística. En estos momentos se encuentra terminando su primera novela.

She is a filmmaker who has obtained several awards and international recognition. In 2006 her shortfilm "Flowers at the Park (or first kisses)" was released in LesGaiCineMad obtaining the "Best Shortfilm" and "Best Spanish Film" awards.  After that her work was travelling around film festivals all over the world obtaining several awards and great coverage on the specialized press and market.  1 year later, with the release of "At home (or love as well)" she won for the second consecutive year the "Best Shortfilm" award at LesGaiCineMad and had the possibility to travel the world presenting her film and collecting awards in LGTB Film Festivals.  That has given her the contacts, the vision and the ambition to take her experience to her local market.

Es guionista, directora y productora de cine que ha obtenido numerosos premios y reconocimientos internacionales.  Desde que en 2006 su cortometraje “Flores en el Parque (o los primeros besos)” fuera estrenado en LesGaiCineMad obteniendo el premio a “Mejor Cortometraje” y “Mejor Obra española” su obra ha recorrido los festivales de todo el mundo hasta convertirse en uno de los referentes del cine LGTB.  Luego con el estreno de “A domicilio (o incluso también el amor)” y la obtención por segundo año consecutivo del premio a “Mejor Cortometraje” en LesGaiCineMad.  Mariel ha tenido la posibilidad de recorrer el mundo a través de la presentación de su trabajo en Festivales LGTB lo que le ha dado los contactos, la ilusión y la ambición de trasladar su experiencia a su mercado local.
