What is your film about?

The film is about a girl couple that has a an argument about infidelity, showing the image that they have of themselves. It´s a night that goes around with the baby´s snores, passionate sex,wine and they will face their theories with practice.

How is it doing in the festival circuit? Has it received any award? Any other merit?

It has worked well in Festivals having done a long run with more than 20 festivals already. Especially Festival that stand out latin american productions and LGBT ones. It was received best script and montage prizes and it was nominated as Best Chilean short film in 2008 in the Pedro Sienna Awards that are like the Chilean Goya awards.

Who are the members of the cast and how was your relationship with them?

I developed the script Dramaturgy Diploma where I met one of the actress, Loreto Leon vendagar, who was doing some work in directing. We became friends and helped each other to get our projects off the ground. She brought whom was going to be her partner in the film, Francisca Concha. The job was made in a friendly atmosphere, where we all decided everything, it was only 5 people in the filming.

How was the production process?

The team was very small and in three exhausting days we managed to film 25 minutes of the story although the first short film was more than 40 minutes. Back then it was like almost an exercise, what I had wrote it had been done in theater way and I didn´t like the result so I decided to do the staging myself. Once we had the result of the filming in our hands, we thought the material was good that way so we had to work on it during post-production to give it the long life that it has had. This process lasted more than a year, with some stuns and even some re-enacting of a scene a year later (with an older child), plus the fine work done in the editing in Chile by Soledad Salfate.

Are you coming to LesGaiCineMad in November to present your film?

If everything works out , I should be there presenting my short film in Madrid. Although I´m going to be close in day to be filming my first film on a sail boat in the Pacific.

¿De qué trata tu película?
Mi película trata de una pareja de mujeres que discuten sobre la infidelidad, exteriorizando la imagen que tiene de si mismas. En una noche entre ronquidos de un niño, apasionado sexo y copas de vino enfrentarán sus teorías con la práctica.

¿Cómo está funcionando en festivales? ¿Ha recibido algún premio? ¿Algún
otro mérito destacable?
Ha funcionado muy bien en festivales habiendo hecho un recorrido ya de más de 20 festivales. Sobretodo festivales que resaltan la producción latinoamericana y los LGTB. Ha recibido premios al guión y al montaje y fue nominado al mejor cortometraje chileno del 2008 en los premios Pedro Sienna que son como los Goya chilenos.

¿Quiénes son los actores y qué tal fue tu relación con ellos durante la
preparación y rodaje de la película?
Desarrollé el guión en un diplomado de dramaturgia donde conocí a una de las actrices, Loreto Leonvendagar, que realizaba lo suyo en dirección. Nos hicimos amigas y nos ayudamos mutuamente a llevar a cabo nuestros proyectos. Ella me trajo a quien sería su pareja en el cortometraje, Francisca Concha. El trabajo fue en una ambiente muy amistoso, donde todos hacíamos de todo, fuimos sólo 5 personas en el rodaje.

¿Cómo fue el proceso de producción?
El grupo de trabajo fue muy pequeño, en tres extensos días sacamos adelante los 25 minutos de historia, aunque el primer corte tenía más 40 minutos. En su momento fue tomado como un ejercicio casi, lo que yo había escrito lo habían montado teatralmente y no me gustó nada el resultado, así que quise hacer yo la puesta en escena. Una vez con el resultado del rodaje en la mano, consideramos que el material era bueno así que había que prost-producirlo para darle la larga vida que ha tenido. Este proceso duró más de un año, con doblajes e incluso la recreación de una escena casi un año después (con el niño crecido), más el fino trabajo de una consagrada de la edición en Chile, Soledad Salfate.

¿Vienes a LesGaiCineMad en Noviembre para presentarla?
Si todo resulta, debería estar presentando mi cortometraje en Madrid, aunque voy a estar a días de grabar mi primer largometraje en un velero en las aguas de Pacífico.
