What is your film about?
Heralda describes the process of self-identification and differentiation of a person during her adolescence. Ann — the leading character — is employed at a funeral house, managed together with her mother and grandmother. This business is the only sustenance of her family.
Ann makes the deads up and writes obituaries and farewell words. She lives in a familiar reality that oppresses her, but in the meanwhile she begins to discover her identity, in particular the sexuality and her vocation.

How is it doing in the festival circuit? Has it received any award? Any other merit?
Heralda:
- Selected to partecipate to the “Vancouver Latin American Film Festival (VLAFF) in Vancouver, Canada. 2008
- it gained the 1st Price in the “SUMA CINE” Film Festival. Gualeguaychú. Argentina. 2008
- Selected for the Vilnius Film Festival. Lithuania. 2008
- Selected for the Capalbio Cinema. Tuscany. Italy. 2008
- Selected for the International Contest “La mujer y el cine”. Buenos Aires. Argentina. 2009

Who are the members of the cast and how was your relationship with them?
The actors are mostly family or friends. Therefore the relation with them during the preparation and the rolling was very fluid and simple. The biggest difficulty was transmitting the idea as clear as we could, because we have had a little time of pre-production and very few days to essay.

How was the production process?
Heralda won the contest "Argentinian Shorts. Second Edition" realized by LA DOBLE A Productions. The general production of the short was in charge of the organizers of the contest, bringing – as part of the award – the technical tools – the Super 16 camera, team of direct sound, lights – and professional ones – the Director of Photography, cameraman, gaffer, publisher, sound mixer – indispensable to turn the script into an audio-visual product.

Are you coming to LesGaiCineMad in November to present your film?
Unfortunately I will not be able to go to the presentation of my movie in LesGaiCineMad for reasons of costs.

¿De qué trata tu película?

Heralda describe el proceso de auto identificación y diferenciación de una persona durante la adolescencia. Ana —el personaje protagónico— trabaja en una casa de sepelios que mantienen junto a su madre y su abuela. Este negocio es el único sustento de la familia.
Ana maquilla a los muertos y escribe los obituarios o palabras de despedida. Vive sumergida en una realidad familiar que la oprime, a la vez que comienza un camino de descubrimiento de su identidad en el que van a ponerse en relevancia elecciones tales como la sexualidad y la vocación.


¿Cómo está funcionando en festivales? ¿Ha recibido algún premio? ¿Algún
otro mérito destacable?

Heralda fue
• Seleccionada para participar en el “Vancouver Latin American Film Festival (VLAFF) en

¿Quiénes son los actores y qué tal fue tu relación con ellos durante la
preparación y rodaje de la película?

Los actores son en su mayoría familia o amigos. Por lo tanto la relación con ellos durante la preparación y el rodaje fue muy fluida y simple. La dificultad mayor fue lograr una clara transmisión de la idea, debido a que tuvimos poco tiempo de pre-producción y por ende, pocos días destinados a ensayos.


¿Cómo fue el proceso de producción?

Heralda es el guión ganador del concurso “Cortos Argentinos. Segunda Edición” realizado por LA DOBLE A Producciones. La producción general del corto estuvo a cargo de los organizadores del concurso, brindando – como parte del premio – las herramientas técnicas – cámara Super 16, equipo de sonido directo, luces – y profesionales – Director de Fotografía, camarógrafo, gaffer, editor, mezclador de sonido – indispensables para convertir el guión en un producto audiovisual.


¿Vienes a LesGaiCineMad en Noviembre para presentarla?

Lamentablemente, no voy a poder acudir a la presentación de mi película en el
LesGaiCineMad por razones de costos.
