What is your film about?

Life…the human journey. The film is based on a true story and I felt that it was important to make this film because no matter what happens in life one thing remains true- and that is our ability to love. I don’t think we can ever forget but as long as we keep that innocence that comes from a loving heart we hold the keys for healing.
Innocence Remains tells the journey of surviving pain. It is the story of an unforgettable past that comes back in our lives. Can we forgive, can we conquer our deepest fear and is love enough to heal our memories/pain?

How is it doing in the festival circuit? Has it received any award? Any other merit?

The film is doing very well, because of the subject matter which involves a rape we were first aware that it would be a more challenging task for festivals then a “comedy”. But we are glad to see that the film is very well accepted on the festival circuit.

Who are the members of the cast and how was your relationship with them?

The members of the cast are myself Marie Roux, Nina Hauser and Rene Heger.
I wrote and produced this film so that I could tell this story and portray the role of Deborah. Nina Hauser, wonderful actress plays the co-lead Lucye. We became great friend through the depth of the story. And Rene Heger plays the male lead Warren, a short but very intense scene that required a very good actor of his caliber. I have known Rene for years and have worked with him in the past. He was also in my other film “Remember The Eyes”.

How was the production process?

Fascinating to realize that all things come together when you believe in something strongly. Everyone felt for the subject matter and there was a lot of respect and dedication in all areas of the production. The team was very similar to the first one we had with our first film “Remember The Eyes” and from that initial chore more unique artists came and join the crew.
We shot with the Red One camera and were very pleased with the quality of the film. We shot in 2 days and a half, on 1 location. Very intense shoot but so worth it!
I was very blessed to have so many people giving their time and talent for the film. Thank you all!

¿De qué trata tu película?

La vida…el viaje de los seres humanos. La película está basada en una historia real y sentí que era muy importante hacer esta película porque a pesar de las cosas que puedan pasarte en la vida, una de ellas permanece segura y es tu capacidad de amar. No creo que en todas las ocasiones podamos olvidar pero siempre que mantengamos la inocencia de un corazón capaz de amar tendremos las claves para curarnos.
La película narra un viaje de supervivencia al dolor. Es la historia de un pasado que no puede ser olvidado y vuelve a nuestras vidas. ¿Podremos perdonar, podremos vencer nuestros miedos más ocultos, será el amor suficiente para sanar nuestro recuerdo, nuestro dolor?

¿Cómo está funcionando en festivales? ¿Ha recibido algún premio? ¿Algún otro mérito destacable?

La película tiene éxito, a pesar de que nos habían advertido que dado que la historia contaba una violación sería mucho más difícil su promoción en festivales, más que una comedia en todo caso. Así que estamos encantados de ver que la película ha tenido buena aceptación en los festivales de cine.

¿Quiénes son los actores y qué tal fue tu relación con ellos durante la preparación y rodaje de la película?

Los miembros del reparto son Nina Hauser, Rene Heger y yo misma, Marie Roux.
Escribí y produje la película para poder contar esta historia e interpretar el papel de Deborah. Nina Hauser, una actriz maravillosa interpreta el papel secundario de Lucye. Nos hicimos muy amigas gracias a la profundidad de la historia. Y Rene Heger interpreta el papel masculino principal Warren, en una escena corta pero muy intensa que requería un buen actor de su talla. Conozco a Rene desde hace años y ya había trabajado con él anteriormente. También estuvo en mi película anterior “Remember the eyes/Recuerda los ojos”.

¿Cómo fue el proceso de producción?

Fue fascinante descubrir como las cosas salen bien cuando crees poderosamente en un proyecto. Todo el mundo se comprometió con la historia y hubo mucho respeto y dedicación en todas las fases de producción.
El equipo fue prácticamente el mismo que tuvimos en nuestra primera producción “Remember The Eyes/Recuerda Los Ojos” y luego otros artistas maravillosos se unieron a ese equipo inicial.
Rodamos con la cámara Red One y estamos muy contentos con la calidad de la película. Rodamos durante dos días y medio, en un sólo set. Fue un rodaje muy intenso, pero ¡mereció le pena!
Fui afortunada por poder contar con tanta gente que me ofreció su tiempo y su talento para poder hacer la película. ¡Gracias a todos!.
