What is your film about?

"Donne-moi la main" is about a pair of twin brothers setting out through France and Spain to attend their estranged mother's funeral. But what begins as an innocent escapade turns into a darker journey, where rivalry and erotic tension erupt.

How is it doing in the festival circuit? Has it received any award? Any other merit?

"Donne-moi la main" got its European premiere at Nanni Moretti's 26th Torino Film Festival, and its American premiere at New Directors, New Films in New York. It has been bought by many foreign countries for theatrical release, which makes me very happy. I am truly excited by LesGaiCineMad, because the film has never been seen in Spain before! And fact is that this film was partly shot in Spain, so I'm very anxious with the Spanish premiere in Madrid.

Who are the members of the cast and how was your relationship with them?

The actors in the film are real life twins Alexandre & Victor Carril, and the film is partly inspired by their own story. We had a very nice time doing the film, even if we all were nervous with all the nudity that was in the script. But the twins did a good job, and they have been very generous with the project. This movie also stars Spanish actor Fernando Ramallo - I love him.

Are you coming to LesGaiCineMad?

Yes, I am, and so happy about it. Alex and Victor are coming too, and they speak Spanish, so I'm sure we will have a very nice time at the festival.

¿De qué trata tu película?

"Donne-moi la main" trata sobre un par de hermanos gemelos que inician un viaje a través de Francia y España para asistir al funeral de su madre. Pero lo que empieza como una inocente escapada se convierte en un viaje hacia algo más oscuro en el que surge la rivalidad y tensión sexual.

¿Cómo está funcionando en festivales? ¿Ha recibido algún premio? ¿Algún otro mérito destacable?

"Donne-moi la main" fue estrenada en Europa en el “Nanni Moretti's 26th Torino Film Festival”, y se presentó en América en el festival “New Directors, New Films” de New York. La hemos vendido para su estreno en cines en muchos países, de lo cual estoy muy satisfecho. Estoy muy emocionado por su presentación en LesGaiCineMad, porque la película no se ha visto antes en España y lo cierto es que la rodamos parcialmente allí. Estoy ansioso por ver el estreno español en Madrid.

¿Quiénes son los actores y qué tal fue tu relación con ellos durante la preparación y rodaje de la película?

Los actores de la película son los gemelos Alexandre & Víctor Carril. La cinta está en parte inspirada en su propia historia. Lo pasamos muy bien haciéndola, a pesar de lo nerviosos que estábamos por la cantidad de desnudos que aparecían en el guión. Pero los gemelos lo hicieron bien y fueron muy generosos con el proyecto. En la película también aparece el actor español Fernando Ramallo – Me encanta.

¿Vienes a LesGaiCineMad en Noviembre para presentarla?

Sí, iré y estoy muy contento por ello. Alex y Víctor estarán también, y como hablan español, estoy seguro de que lo pasarán muy bien en el festival.
