Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at LesGaiCineMad / La Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España en LesGaiCineMad SFM

LesGaiCineMad and the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have made an agreement that the members of the Academy can be accredited within a special category and with special benefits at LesGaiCineMad –14th International Festival of Lesbian, Gay and Transsexual Cinema in Madrid and LesGaiCineMad Film Market- 1st International LGBT Film Market which forms part of the 2009 edition of this festival organised by Fundación Triangulo since 1996.

In order to participate, members of the Academy should get in contact with our Guest Services department at guestservices(@)lgbtfilmmarket(.)com where they will be informed of their benefits and the accreditation process.

The Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is, among many other things, the institution which produces and delivers The Goya Awards and is responsible for choosing the film which represents Spain in the competition for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

Amongst the objectives pursued by the Academy you will find (extracted from their statutes)

• Promote the progress of the Arts and Sciences related directly and indirectly with cinematography.
• Promote the attendance and exchange of scientific, artistic and technical information between all their members
• Encourage the development and improvement of the different specialities related to cinematography, promote the exchange of experiences between their members, coordinate the different aspects of their performances and analyze and resolve common problems.
• Any other activity aimed at raising the artistic, technical and scientific level of their members and stimulating the artistic level of citizens giving to the Motion Picture Arts the artistic level it deserves and constructive collaboration between Public Administration and people related to the Motion Picture Arts.

We appreciate enormously that the Film Academy has found these values in LesGaiCineMad and that we can count on their support.

But that’s not all. Soon we will be announcing news about the collaboration between both organisations.

LesGaiCineMad y la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España han llegado a un acuerdo por el cuál los socios Académicos podrán acreditarse con categoría y beneficios especiales en LesGaiCineMad – 14º Festival Internacional de Cine Lésbico Gai y Transexual de Madrid y LesGaiCineMad SFM – 1er Mercado Internacional de Cine LGBT que forma parte de la edición 2009 de este Festival organizado por Fundación Triangulo desde 1996.

Para poder participar los socios deben ponerse en contacto con el área de Guest Services en guestservices(@)lgbtfilmmarket(.)com donde podrán ser informados de sus beneficios y su método de acreditación.

La Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España, entre muchas otras cosas, es la institución que produce y entrega los Premios GOYA y es la encargada de designar la película que representará a España en la competición por el OSCAR a la Mejor Película de Habla No Inglesa.

Entre los objetivos perseguidos por la Academia se encuentran (extraídos de sus estatutos):

• Fomentar el progreso de las artes y de las ciencias relacionadas directa o indirectamente con la cinematografía.
• Promover la asistencia y el intercambio de información científica, artística y técnica entre todos sus miembros
• Procurar el desarrollo y perfeccionamiento de las distintas especialidades relacionadas con la cinematografía, fomentar el intercambio de experiencias entre sus miembros, coordinar los diferentes aspectos de su actuación y analizar y resolver problemas comunes.
• Cualquier otra actividad tendente a elevar el nivel artístico, técnico o científico de sus miembros y estimular el nivel artístico de los ciudadanos dando a las artes cinematográficas el nivel artístico que merecen y la constructiva colaboración entre la Administración Pública y las personas relacionadas con las artes cinematográficas.

Apreciamos enormemente que la Academia de Cine haya encontrado estos valores en LesGaiCineMad y que podamos contar con su apoyo.

Pero eso no es todo. Pronto anunciaremos importantes novedades acerca de la colaboración entre ambas organizaciones.
