Este año seguimos adelante sin el SFM (Spanish Film Market) / This year we move forward without the SFM (Spanish Film Market)

Lamentamos informar que en 2010 no habrá SFM – Mercado de Cine LGBT dentro de LesGaiCineMad. La razón fundamental es la crisis mundial que afecta directamente a la producción/exhibición de películas. Más concretamente a una reducción de un 35% que sufrimos en nuestro presupuesto y a la disminución exponencial de la producción de películas de temática LGBT en idioma español.

Tanto las ayudas públicas como las aportaciones privadas se han reducido en este año tan difícil para todos. Y aunque agradecemos infinitamente a los que continúan confiando en nosotros y acompañándonos en este camino que iniciamos hace 15 años, lamentamos tener que reducir algunos aspectos de nuestro festival.

En estos recortes se basa la desaparición del Mercado de Películas LGBT de este año; pero también en estos recortes se cimenta la energía que nos permite seguir adelante e identificar más que nunca la necesidad de continuar unidos y potenciar la formación y relación de los cineastas para que no abandonen el camino de producir y de seguir contando historias tan importantes para nuestra visibilidad.

Por eso no habrá SFM pero sí nos centraremos en nuestra industria local y organizaremos una serie de “Encuentros con la industria” porque a pesar de todo, este es el 15 aniversario de LesGaiCineMad y aunque seamos más pequeñitos que el año pasado tenemos las mismas ganas de sacar el Festival adelante. Y, sobre todo, tenemos la energía para seguir el camino que comenzamos el año pasado con el SFM: hacer del LesGaiCineMad un punto de encuentro, formación e intercambio para los cineastas que desarrollan o intentan desarrollar contenidos de temática LGBT.

Por eso para celebrar este aniversario, para que todos podamos conocernos mejor y para compartir experiencias con cineastas españoles vamos a invitar a los ganadores de los premios de la categoría “Española” de los últimos 5 años de LesGaiCineMad a que den coloquios. Y también organizaremos 3 charlas destacadas con cineastas que por su calidad de trabajo y trayectoria vengan a contarnos el recorrido que han seguido, qué han aprendido con el tiempo, que dificultades han encontrado, cuáles son sus éxitos, sus nuevos proyectos, sus reflexiones, sus preocupaciones, etc. La idea sobre todo es estimular y también poner sobre la tierra a los nuevos cineastas para seguir fomentando la creación audiovisual.

Pronto anunciaremos los nombres de estos profesionales que darán las charlas y sobre todo los 3 profesionales destacados que de verdad os prometemos que la experiencia que pueden compartir con nosotros vale oro.

Así que estad atent@s porque a partir del 1 de Octubre comienza la acreditación para el 15º LesGaiCineMad.

We regret to inform that in 2010 there will be no SFM - LGBT Film Market at LesGaiCineMad. The main reason is the global crisis that directly affects the production / exhibition of movies. More specifically to a 35% reduction in our budget and the exponential decay of the production of LGBT films in Spanish language.

Both, public support and private sponsors have reduced their financial support from us in this year so difficult for everyone. And though infinitely grateful to those who continue to rely on us and accompany us since we started 15 years ago, we regret having to reduce some aspects of our festival.

These circumstances are the reasons for the disappearance of SFM - LGBT Film Market this year, but these cuts also cements the energy that allows us to move forward and identify more than ever the need to remain united and increasing training and relationship of the filmmakers to not leaving the track to produce and to continue telling stories so important to our visibility.

So there will not be SFM but we will focus in our local industry and organize a series of meetings with the industry because in spite of all, this is the 15th anniversary of LesGaiCineMad and even though we are littler than last year we have the same desire to make the Festival work. And above all, we have the energy to follow the path that began last year with the SFM, that is: make a meeting, training and exchange place for filmmakers that develop or try to develop LGBT-themed content.

Then to celebrate this anniversary, to know each other better and to share experiences with Spanish filmmakers we are going to invite the winners of the "Spanish" category awards of the last five years of LesGaiCineMad to give a lecture. And we will also organize three “outstanding talks” with filmmakers that because of their quality of work and career will come to tell us the path they followed, what they have learned over time the difficulties they have found, their successes, new projects, their reflections, concerns, etc. The whole idea is to encourage and also to put on earth new filmmakers to continue to promote audiovisual production.

We will soon announce the names of these professionals and especially these three outstanding talks that we can promise the experience they can share with us are really worthy.

So stay tuned because the accreditation for the 15th LesGaiCineMad.begins on Octobre 1st
